Makeup Trends 2025: What's Defining the Year

2025 has arrived with a revolution in the world of makeup. This year's trends celebrate individuality and self-expression, moving away from rigid beauty standards to embrace more personal and creative looks.
The 'skin tint' trend has replaced full-coverage foundations in everyday makeup. These are lightweight products that even out skin tone without hiding freckles, moles, or natural texture. In Medellín, where the sun is generous, this trend works perfectly combined with a good tinted sunscreen.
Graphic eyeliner continues to be a protagonist, but this year it's becoming more accessible. It's no longer just about perfect lines but expressive strokes, double lines, and unexpected colors like olive green, terracotta, and midnight blue. It's a trend I love because it allows you to play and be creative.
Blush continues to reign, but now it's applied in unconventional ways. The 'sunburn blush' mimics a natural sun flush and is applied on the bridge of the nose, cheeks, and even the ears. It's fresh, youthful, and perfect for Medellín's climate.
For lips, the return of visible lip liner is the star of the year. Lips lined with a slightly darker shade than the fill create a dimensional, polished effect. Rosy nudes and warm browns are the most requested shades in my studio.
Natural, well-groomed brows continue trending. At-home brow lamination and fiber-infused setting gels are displacing overly defined pomade brows. The key is for them to look full but natural, as if you woke up with perfect brows.
The most beautiful thing about 2025 trends is that they prioritize skin health. Products with active ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C are increasingly common in makeup, blurring the line between skincare and makeup.
